What is WooCommerce Dynamic Pricing?

WooCommerce Dynamic Pricing is an advanced pricing and discount management extension designed for WordPress e-commerce stores. It allows store owners to set up automated, conditional pricing rules based on product quantities, user roles, product categories, and purchase history. Instead of relying on static store-wide discounts, this plugin lets you build targeted pricing strategies that reward customer loyalty and encourage larger order volumes.

What Does WooCommerce Dynamic Pricing Do?

The plugin evaluates cart contents, customer attributes, and predefined rules in real time to adjust product prices dynamically. You can create percentage discounts, fixed-price adjustments, or specific product rewards when buying items in bulk or belonging to specific groups. The calculation happens seamlessly before checkout, giving shoppers transparent feedback on their savings.

Who Is This Plugin For?

This extension is built for WooCommerce store owners, wholesale merchants, digital agencies, and e-commerce managers who need granular control over product pricing. Whether you run a B2B wholesale portal requiring tiered customer roles, a retail store offering volume bulk discounts, or a specialty shop running promotional bundles, this tool provides the flexibility required to execute complex pricing models.

Key Capabilities and Features

Store administrators can configure advanced pricing structures using multiple rule types. Key features include volume-based tier discounts, category-wide percentage reductions, customer role pricing adjustments, and special offer setups. The plugin supports both block-based quantity calculations and bulk pricing modes, allowing for intricate promotional campaigns without manual coupon code entry.

Practical WordPress Use Cases

Common applications include offering tiered discounts where buying five items gives a 10 percent discount and ten items gives 20 percent. Another use case is setting wholesale pricing exclusively for logged-in users assigned to a specific wholesale user role. Store managers also use it to apply category-wide discounts during seasonal promotional periods.

Setup and Compatibility Notes

The plugin integrates natively into the standard WordPress dashboard under WooCommerce settings. Version 3.6.1 requires WordPress 6.5 or higher and WooCommerce 9.0 as minimum supported versions, with testing completed up to WordPress 7.1 and WooCommerce 11.0. Proper configuration requires reviewing existing special offer rules after updates to ensure expected discount calculations apply.

Why Choose This Extension on WPPick

Choosing WooCommerce Dynamic Pricing on WPPick provides store managers with a streamlined way to implement robust pricing logic without custom coding. It simplifies promotional management, reduces cart abandonment by incentivizing larger purchases, and ensures compatibility with modern WordPress and WooCommerce environments.

Latest Version Context

Version 3.6.1 introduces key compatibility updates, establishing WordPress 6.5 and WooCommerce 9.0 as the minimum required versions while verifying compatibility up to WordPress 7.1 and WooCommerce 11.0. These updates ensure stability, security adherence, and seamless integration with recent e-commerce core improvements.

Version: 3.6.1Latest Release
Compatibility
  • Tested up to WordPress 7.1
  • WordPress 6.5 is now the minimum supported version
  • WooCommerce 9.0 is now the minimum supported version
August 19, 2026
Version: 3.6.0
Other
  • IMPORTANT: This release changes the price some existing Special Offer rules charge. Review your Special Offer rules after updating.
  • Continuous quantity-tier, role, membership, category and order-total rules are unchanged.
Bug Fix
  • Special Offers could charge a per-unit price nobody configured, measured between 5% and 250% of the product's own price.
  • Happened once an offer's allowance was partly spent, by another cart line or by another product sharing the same rule set, which duplicating a product produces.
  • Moves in both directions. Most affected lines were charged above the product's price, some below it.
  • Audit past orders if you run Special Offers on duplicated products, or on products that can occupy more than one cart line.
  • A Special Offer rule set holding an adjustment type this version does not recognise now applies nothing, and the product is charged its own price.
  • Previously the unrecognised rule cancelled the set only above its own starting quantity. Below it, an earlier rule in the set went on discounting.
  • Affects rule sets written by a much older version, by hand, or by another plugin. If a Special Offer stopped discounting after updating, check its stored rules.
Improvement
  • Repeating "Product Quantity" Special Offers now count blocks the same way however many cart lines the product occupies.
  • Previously an add-on or a bundle splitting the product onto a second line silently changed the price.
  • A completed block is now required in both cases, so affected offers grant fewer discounted units than in 3.4.x.
  • Check repeating product-quantity offers at quantities that fall between blocks.
  • Non-repeating "Quantity of Category" Special Offers now pay out on the units the category total has earned.
  • Previously the offer was declined entirely unless the category total covered a whole block. Affected offers grant more discounted units than in 3.4.x.
  • Applies only where the discounted product is itself in that category.
  • Non-repeating "Quantity of Category" Special Offers no longer discount more units than the category total covers.
  • The payout is capped at the quantity above the offer's starting quantity. Affected offers grant fewer discounted units than in 3.4.x.
  • This moves opposite to the change above, so check category-counted offers at a range of category totals.
  • The "buy from this category, discount a product outside it" shape is unchanged.
  • A line that qualifies for a pooled Special Offer but is left no free units now stays at its own price, instead of falling through to the next rule set.
  • A line gets one discount, from the offer that qualified for it.
  • Needs two or more Special Offer rule sets on one product, and an offer counted by category or by product quantity.
Other
  • Special Offer allowances are no longer tracked in a per-request accumulator keyed by rule set id.
  • A set is resolved across every cart line it covers in one pass, so a line's price no longer depends on the order lines were costed in.
  • Rule sets now resolve for every cart line an offer pools, not only the line being priced.
  • Now also running for sibling lines: woocommerce_dynamic_pricing_is_rule_set_valid_for_user and wc_dynamic_pricing_get_adjustment_set_variations.
  • Same for wc_dynamic_pricing_get_product_pricing_rule_sets and wc_dynamic_pricing_get_cart_item_pricing_rule_sets.
  • woocommerce_dynamic_pricing_get_price_to_discount, and with it wc_dynamic_pricing_get_use_sale_price, now runs twice per block decision rather than once.
  • Arguments and return handling are unchanged. Only how often a callback runs, and which line it is asked about.
  • The product-page price preview core and the cart now share one rule-selection implementation, so the two cannot select different rules for the same input.
  • The preview still models a single-line cart, and each price map carries a trust level saying when that holds. Nothing renders it yet.

October 15, 2025

New Feature
  • New feature and filter: apply_to_max. This allows us to create tiered pricing structures when the rule processing mode is Bulk. Tip: set higher quantities first. Example: Buy 1-4 get 5% off, Buy 5-9 get 10% off, Buy 10+ get 15% off. To use this feature add the following filter to your functions.php or custom plugin: add_filter('wc_dynamic_pricing_advanced_product_rule_apply_to_max', '__return_true'); This will cause the pricing rules to apply to the maximum quantity in the cart for that product, rather than the total quantity of that product in the cart.
October 8, 2025
Version: 3.4.7
Bug Fix
  • Fix issue with custom taxonomy handler, where a taxonomy which doesn't exist, but was registered by the user was causing an error
